Mathonaut is built so you don't have to give us anything. Here's what that means in practice.
Nothing. Mathonaut does not have an account system, does not ask for your name, email, or phone number, and does not include any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK.
Your training sessions, scores, statistics, achievements, settings, and subscription state are stored locally on your device using its built-in database (IndexedDB). This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of it.
Subscriptions are processed by the app store you downloaded Mathonaut from — either the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. The store's privacy practices govern your transaction:
To manage subscription state across app launches and devices signed in to the same store account (Apple ID or Google account), we use a third-party service called RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase receipt from the store and an app-generated anonymous identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, account ID, or any other personal data — we don't have it to give. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for their practices.
If you redeem a promo or gift code, RevenueCat records the code and the anonymous identifier it was applied to so the entitlement can be honored.
After your first completed training session, Mathonaut asks for permission to send you local practice reminders. If you grant permission, the app schedules up to three notifications per day (a practice prompt at your habitual training time, an evening nudge, and a midnight streak-save) entirely on your device. No notification content, timing, or response is ever transmitted to us or to any third party.
To determine a good time to remind you, Mathonaut records the timestamps of your last 24 sessions in its local on-device database alongside your other training data. This data is used only to schedule reminders and is never sent off your device. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device's system settings.
Mathonaut is suitable for all ages. Because we do not collect any personal information from any user, the app complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including provisions for minors, and equivalent regulations elsewhere.
Because Mathonaut does not collect or store any personal information about you on our servers, there is nothing on our side for us to access, export, or delete on your behalf. To delete all locally stored data, uninstall the app from your device. To cancel a subscription, use your Apple ID or Google account subscription settings.
If we ever change how the app handles data — for example, if we add an optional feature that requires data to be processed — we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
